Privacy Policy
Effective September 1, 2026 · Written in plain English on purpose.
The short version
MyPricingCalculator.com ("MPC", "we") is a set of pricing calculators for trade and service businesses. The calculators are free and you can use them without an account. There is also an optional paid membership ("PRO"). Your use of MPC is also governed by our Terms of Service. Here's the plain-English summary:
- We run our own first-party analytics to see how the site and tools are used. This never includes the pricing figures you enter, and we don't store your IP address in it.
- We separately record anonymous pricing observations — the numbers themselves, like hours, rates, prices, and margins, plus an approximate location — to keep our pricing accurate to the real market. These deliberately leave out your name, email, phone, and any client details.
- If you create an account, we collect what's needed to run it, and PRO payments are handled by our payment processor.
- We keep standard server logs, and we currently also use Google Analytics while it remains installed.
- We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use our analytics or pricing data for cross-site advertising.
- We may build de-identified, aggregated benchmarks and data products out of the pricing numbers — stripped of anything that reasonably identifies you or your customers. Creating or even selling those products is not the sale of your personal information.
Two systems below do different jobs and are kept apart on purpose: our usage analytics never contains your pricing figures, and our pricing data never contains your identity or your customers' details.
Two kinds of information: your personal data vs. MPC DATA
It helps to keep two very different things separate as you read the rest of this policy:
A. Your personal / identifiable information. Information that identifies you or your business — your account details, your saved PRO estimates, any customer information you choose to enter, and similar records. We treat this as yours: we use it to run the service for you, and we do not sell it.
B. De-identified and aggregated MPC DATA. Statistical, analytical, and pricing information we develop from how the Services are used — the pricing numbers with anything that reasonably identifies you or your customers stripped out. Once information is properly de-identified and aggregated, it is no longer your personal information, and we may use it to build MPC's own benchmarks, datasets, analytics, and products, as described below and in our Terms of Service.
Information you give us
Accounts (FREE or PRO). Creating an account is optional — the free calculators work without one. If you register, we collect what you provide, such as your email and password, and any name or company details you enter.
Payments (PRO). Paid memberships are billed through our payment processor, Stripe. Your card details are handled by Stripe under its own terms; we don't receive or store full card numbers. We keep records like your subscription status and payment history.
Saved estimates (PRO). If you use the PRO tools to build and save estimates, we store the job information you enter so the feature works for you. This can include customer details you choose to add; that identifiable information stays part of your own account records — it is not placed into MPC DATA (see below), even though anonymous pricing figures from the same estimate may be.
Feedback and contact. The site has voluntary forms — suggesting a new trade, or telling us a calculator's numbers look off — and you can email us directly. If you use them, we receive what you type. Including your email is optional; if you do, we use it only to reply. We never sell or share it.
MPC Analytics — how the site is used (no economics)
We use our own first-party analytics to understand usage and improve the product. It runs automatically as you use the site and records basic usage events — for example, that a page was viewed, a calculation was completed, an upgrade page was viewed, or checkout was started — along with a random visitor and session identifier stored in your browser (random values, not your name or email), the page path and type, the trade or calculator involved, how you arrived (referrer and any campaign tags), and a coarse device type.
If you're signed in, we may associate these basic usage events with your account, so we can understand how members use MPC — which calculators lead to upgrades, how usage changes after registering or upgrading, and how members are retained over time.
MPC Analytics does not include any pricing or economic figures (hours, rates, materials, prices, costs, margins), any customer content, or your IP address. We don't sell it, share it for others' use, or use it to track you across other sites.
MPC DATA — anonymous pricing observations
To keep our pricing accurate to the real-world market, we record anonymous pricing observations when calculators are used and when PRO estimates are saved. An observation may include the economic and job figures involved — such as labor hours, labor rates, materials, overhead, calculated or quoted prices, profit, margin, and production information — along with approximate geography like ZIP code, region, CBSA (metro area), or state.
These are captured through a strict allow-list that deliberately excludes personal and customer information. They do not include names, email addresses, phone numbers, street addresses, free-text notes, or the content of your proposals. Observations from the free calculators use a random browser identifier and aren't tied to your identity; observations from saved PRO estimates are linked internally to your account and company so we can trace the source of the evidence, but still exclude your clients' names, emails, and contact details. Even when a saved PRO estimate contains your customer's information, that identifiable customer information is not part of the pricing observation.
We use MPC DATA to improve the accuracy of the pricing our calculators produce and to build MPC's own pricing intelligence. Because these observations are de-identified and aggregated, we may also use them to develop MPC's own pricing benchmarks, market benchmarks, datasets, analytics, reports, statistical information, research, models, recommendations, new features, and commercial data and intelligence products. These products are built so that they do not reasonably identify any individual user, business, or customer as the source of a particular observation — and creating, using, licensing, publishing, or selling them is not the sale of your personal information. This is the same use of de-identified and aggregated information described in our Terms of Service.
MPC DATA is a separate system from MPC Analytics — the pricing figures here are never placed into the usage analytics above, and the usage analytics never contains your pricing figures.
Automated and AI-assisted features
Some parts of MPC may use automated systems, algorithms, statistical models, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or similar technologies to provide features such as suggestions, explanations, estimates, summaries, recommendations, and pricing or business intelligence. Where these features process information you enter, they do so under this policy, and their outputs are provided for decision-support only — you can read more in our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information to outside AI companies, and we do not send the personal information you provide to third parties for them to train their own models. If that ever changes, we'll update this policy first.
Google Analytics (while installed)
Like many websites, we currently also use Google Analytics, a third-party service from Google. It collects information such as pages visited, approximate location (city/region level, derived from your IP address by Google), device and browser type, and how you arrived, and it uses its own cookies. Because Google is a third party, this is separate from our first-party analytics above. You can read how Google handles this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. We may discontinue Google Analytics in the future; while it remains installed, this section applies.
Server logs
Our hosting provider keeps standard web-server logs (IP address, requested page, timestamp, browser type) for security, abuse prevention, rate-limiting, and operations, as virtually all web hosts do. These operational logs are separate from MPC Analytics, which does not retain your IP address.
Cookies and browser storage
We use a small number of first-party items stored in your browser to make the above work — random identifiers for our usage analytics and for pricing observations, and small flags used to avoid double-counting. Google Analytics uses its own cookies. You can block or delete cookies and clear site storage in your browser settings, use private/incognito mode, or install Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The calculators work exactly the same either way; clearing storage resets the identifiers.
How we use the data
To provide and improve the calculators and site; to run FREE and PRO accounts and process PRO payments; to understand how the tools are used and how members convert and are retained; to keep our pricing accurate to the real market; to develop MPC DATA and MPC's own benchmarks, datasets, analytics, models, research, and products from de-identified and aggregated information; to respond to feedback; to protect the site through security, abuse prevention, and rate-limiting; and to meet legal obligations.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we don't share MPC Analytics or MPC DATA with third parties for their own independent purposes or for advertising. We don't give identifiable information about you or your customers to third parties for their own advertising.
That is different from the de-identified and aggregated products described under MPC DATA above. Our creation, use, licensing, publication, or commercialization of properly de-identified or aggregated MPC-developed datasets, benchmarks, analytics, models, reports, and research is not the sale of your personal information, as long as those products don't reasonably identify you or your customers.
We rely on service providers to run MPC. Today those include our hosting/infrastructure provider (Bluehost), our payment processor (Stripe), and Google (for Google Analytics while it remains installed). As MPC grows we may also use providers supporting areas such as communications and email, security, mapping or geographic functionality, government or public data, accounting and integrations, and other infrastructure needed to operate the Services. Service providers receive only what they need to do their job, and we don't name a provider here unless we actually use it.
We may disclose information if legally required, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of MPC, our users, or others. If MPC is ever part of a merger or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that, subject to this policy.
How long we keep it
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above, and different kinds of information have different lifespans:
- Identifiable account and User Data — kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for legal, accounting, or operational reasons.
- Transaction and business records (such as subscription status and payment history) — kept as needed for accounting, tax, and legal purposes.
- Operational, server, and security records — kept for a limited period for security and operations.
- MPC Analytics — anonymous and pseudonymous usage events kept as long as they remain useful for understanding usage.
- De-identified and aggregated MPC DATA — may be kept and used as long as it remains useful for maintaining accurate benchmarks and pricing intelligence, including after an account or subscription ends, where permitted by law.
- Backup copies — may remain in routine backup and disaster-recovery systems for a reasonable period.
Your choices and deletion
You can use the free calculators without an account. If you have an account, you can review or update your details, or ask us to delete your account and eligible personal information, by emailing us.
When you ask us to delete your account, we remove or de-identify eligible personal information within a reasonable period. A few things to know: deletion does not require us to remove information that has already been lawfully de-identified, aggregated, normalized, statistically incorporated, or built into MPC DATA in a way that no longer reasonably identifies you or your customers. We may also keep certain information where reasonably necessary for legal obligations, accounting and business records, fraud prevention, security, resolving disputes, and enforcing our agreements, and copies may persist in routine backups for a reasonable period. In other words, requesting deletion doesn't instantly erase every record from every system.
You can opt out of Google Analytics and clear your browser storage as described above. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to opt out of certain processing — and we do not sell personal information. To make a request, email us and we'll respond as required by applicable law.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Children
This site is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Users outside the United States
We operate from the United States. If you use the site from another country, your information will be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.
Changes
If our practices change, we'll update this page and change the effective date at the top. For material changes we'll take reasonable steps to notify users.
