Privacy Policy

The short version
This site is a set of free calculators. You don't create an account, we don't ask for your name or email, and the numbers you type into the calculators are processed in your own browser. We use Google Analytics to understand traffic — how many people visit, which pages they use, and where they came from — so we can make the tools better. We don't sell data. Ever.
What we collect
Analytics data (via Google Analytics 4). Like most websites, we use Google Analytics to measure traffic. This collects information such as: pages visited, time on page, approximate location (city/region level, derived from your IP address by Google), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site (search engine, social link, direct). Google Analytics uses cookies to recognize returning visitors. You can read how Google processes this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard web-server logs (IP address, requested page, timestamp) for security and operations, as virtually all web hosts do.
What we don't collect
We don't collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or payment information to use the site — there is nothing to sign up for and nothing to buy. The values you enter into the calculators (your labor rates, margins, job details) are calculated in your browser and are not transmitted to us or stored by us.
If you contact us or send feedback
The site has voluntary forms — suggesting a new trade, or telling us a calculator's numbers look off. If you use them, we receive what you type. Including your email is optional; if you do include it, we use it only to reply to you. We never sell or share it. The same applies if you email us directly.
Planned: anonymous industry benchmarks
In the future, we plan to gather anonymous, aggregated statistics from calculator usage — for example, the average labor rate electricians in a given state enter — to publish free industry benchmark reports and show users how their numbers compare to their trade's averages. If and when this launches: it will never include names, emails, or any personal identifiers; IP addresses will not be stored; and contributing any optional information (like business size) will be clearly labeled and voluntary. We will update this policy when that feature goes live.
Cookies and your choices
The cookies on this site come from Google Analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use your browser's private/incognito mode, or install Google's own opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The calculators work exactly the same either way.
How we use the data
To understand which calculators people find useful, fix what's broken, decide which trades to build next, and report overall traffic statistics (never individual data) if we work with advertisers or partners in the future.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. Google acts as our analytics processor as described above. We may disclose information if legally required to do so.
Children
This site is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If our practices change — for example, when the anonymous benchmark feature launches or if we add advertising — we'll update this page and change the effective date at the top.
